Heat Pump Cost Calculator

A heat pump for a typical Dublin house costs around €12,000–€20,000 before grants. The SEAI heat pump grant of up to €12,500 can cover a large share of that if your home qualifies.

  • SEAI grant up to €12,500

What affects the cost

  • Heat pump size: larger or draughtier homes need bigger units
  • Radiators: some may need upgrading because heat pumps run at lower temperatures
  • Hot water cylinder: usually replaced with a heat-pump-compatible cylinder
  • Insulation: the home must be well insulated for the grant and for low running costs
